[Viral Marketing] Leko (Ikea's eco-friendly car)... Might not be a car at all.

Last week, rumors regarding an upcoming eco-friendly small car from Ikea hit the internet in full force.

Today the Ikea Leko concept has been finally revealed. To everyone’s big disappointment, Leko is not a car at all. Actually it’s not even a proper car-sharing service, but barely a website where people can try to hitch a ride to a Ikea from a fellow driver.

Well, at least we have to salute Ikea for an extremely successful viral marketing campaign. Too bad that the actual product was such a disappointment!

[Cars] After Lamborghini, Ferrari goes green too

While the intertubes are abuzz with Lamborghini’s announcement of a comprehensive carbon emissions reduction plan, rival Ferrari is keen to show it’s keeping pace as the company’s CEO has reportedly indicated the direction Maranello is heading with regards to its greenification.

I keep on finding all that stuff really funny. But keep on thinking that Ferrari California (photo), the brand new car of the Italian firm, is pure beauty. If I ever have in my life the chance to buy such a car… I am not even sure I want it to be green. Let the engine roar, baby ;-)

Lamborghini is ranked among the most polluting brands in Europe and the US… Aware that they have to do something about their not-so-green reputation, Lamborghini has made public its intentions to improve CO₂ emissions. And no, this is not a joke. Lamborghini’s actual CO2 emissions figure is (take a deep breath) about 400 g/km… and 495g/km for its Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 car.

Well… scope of improvment seems pretty vast.

[Cars] Fiat 500 goes cab!

Fiat is about to offer both a full convertible and a cabrio “coach” version of its tremendously fashionable Fiat 500. 

Fiat 500C will be launched into the European Market the 4th of July… I guess that like its elder siser, Fiat 500c price will be absolutely insane but… cuteness has a price !
